Privacy Policy
The short version
- We text and call people for small owner-run trades contractors (such as roofers, tree services, HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops). Those companies give us their customers’ names and phone numbers.
- We use that information only to do the work the company asked for.
- We share it only with the company it belongs to and the providers that help us send texts and calls.
- We do not sell it, rent it or use it for advertising.
- Reply STOP to any text and we stop.
1. Who we are
Ground Crew Inc. (“Ground Crew,” “we,” “us”) is an Ohio corporation in Salem, Ohio. We run quote follow-up, review requests, Google listing upkeep and missed-call text-back for small owner-run trades contractors (such as roofers, tree services, HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops). We call those companies “contractors.” The people who ask a contractor for a quote or hire one are the contractor’s “customers.”
When we text or call a contractor’s customer, we do it on the contractor’s behalf. The contractor decides who we contact and why.
2. What we collect
From contractors: name, business name, phone number, email address, business address, the access to their Google listing they give us, and the billing details we need to charge for our service.
About a contractor’s customers, given to us by the contractor: first and last name, mobile number, the address and kind of job, the date and amount of a quote, and the date a job was finished.
From texts and calls: the texts we send and the replies we get, the phone numbers involved, and the date and time of each. If you call a contractor’s Ground Crew business line and nobody answers, you may be asked to leave a voicemail. We keep the recording and a written copy of it.
From this website: nothing on purpose. The site has no forms, accounts, ads or analytics tools. Our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
3. Why we use it
- To send the texts and make the calls the contractor asked us to handle: quote follow-ups, a review request after a finished job, and a text-back after a missed call.
- To keep track of quotes, jobs and replies, so we do not text someone twice or after they say stop.
- To give the contractor reports on what is open, closed and finished.
- To answer questions, fix problems and bill our contractors.
- To keep our systems safe and to follow the law.
We do not use customers’ information to advertise anything, and we do not build mailing or calling lists from it.
4. Who we share it with
The contractor. The contractor you asked for a quote, or hired, sees your messages and replies. It is their customer information, and we work for them.
Service providers. Companies that help us run the service: phone and text providers, the wireless carriers that deliver messages, hosting and database providers, email and office tools, tools that help us write and sort replies, and billing and bookkeeping tools. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
The law. We may share information if a law, court order or government request requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with lead generators. The only outside parties who see a mobile number are the contractor it belongs to and the providers that deliver the message, and they use it only to deliver it.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
5. Text messages and calls
Texts we send for a contractor are about a quote or job you asked about, a request for a Google review after a finished job, or a text-back after you called. Reply STOP at any time and we will stop. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. The full program terms are in our SMS terms.
If you do not want a voicemail recorded, hang up before you leave one.
6. How long we keep it
- Records about a contractor’s customers, including message history and voicemail: while the contractor is our client, and then we delete them within 30 days after the service ends, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.
- If you reply STOP, we keep your number on a do-not-text list so we do not text you again. That is the one record we keep after a contractor leaves.
- Contractor account and billing records: as long as we need them for taxes and the law.
7. Your choices
- Stop texts: reply STOP to any text.
- See, fix or delete your information: email [email protected] or call (330) 249-1737. We may need to check that it is you. We may also pass a request to the contractor the information came from. We will answer within 30 days.
- Stopping texts does not delete your record, because we need it to keep honoring your STOP.
8. Security
We use well-known providers and limit who can see customer information. No system is perfectly safe, and we cannot promise that yours will never be exposed.
9. Children
Our service is for contractors and their adult customers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10. Ohio law
This policy, and any dispute about it, is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and change the effective date. If a change matters a lot, we will tell our contractors directly.
